Summary: The overall objective of the project is fostering of socio-economic development in the sphere of labour market potential with special focus to cooperation between research institutions, educational establishments and businesses in order to raise the quality of workforce and human resource development. As identified in the EstLatRus Programme document, the majority of enterprises of the area produce for the domestic market and cross-border links between the companies are underdeveloped. In fact, there are several road and rail (on-land) cross-border connection links existing in the area. The main reason for underdevelopment of cross-border trade links is lack of skilled employees (“blue collar” labour) in the companies of the area who would be able to enhance cross-border and international transport and logistics, manage freight forwarding, customer servicing, etc. and thus tighten cross-border economy links in the area. There are vocational schools in the area training transport and logistics. Still, companies employing vocational school graduates are often dissatisfied with the cross-border and international logistics and freight-forwarding skills of their employees. So, in order to make maximum use of the existing cross-border trade potential in the programme border regions, cross-border and international transport training in vocational schools of the area should be improved. The project's ambition is to solve/improve the following: 1. Upgrade the Curricula and training programs used in vocational schools for training logistics, transport, freight forwarding, warehousing, etc. 2. Improve the level of skills of the trainers/teachers of transport and logistics in vocational schools. 3. Use more modelling and simulation as well as other OT-based training programs in the field of logistics. 4. Build up a network of education and research institutions, business community and local authorities
