Summary: The main objective of the project is to lay grounds for the regeneration of the parks of the manor houses in order to increase the role of parks in the wellbeing of local communities. Specific objectives of project are: (1) To elaborate technical documentation for the further development of manor houses` parks; (2) To strengthen cooperation and experience exchange among the landscape designers, historians, garden specialists, owners and managers of manor houses complex for better regeneration of parks; (3) To organize cultural events in the parks in order to attract visitors and to promote local producers and craftsmen and preserve traditional skills; (4) To promote project area as rich cultural and historical heritage tourism destination. There are numerous manor houses, mansions, castles in the project area in Latvia, Estonia and Russia. Many of these historical buildings has been restored and host museums, hotels, exhibitions halls, also schools and other public institutions. Parks of manors are integral part of the whole historical heritage site, unfortunately, due to limited capacities and financial resources, parks as “green heritage” remain undeveloped and ineffectively used. Project has selected following pilot-areas in order to support further regeneration of the parks. Mansion museum Rozhdestveno and the mansion "Suyda" of the Gatchinsky district in Russia, Red palace (Sarkanā pils) park in Gulbene, Latvia. Marketing conditions and opportunities for local craftsmen and producers are limited and through the project they will be improved - direct contact with tourists and more selling possibilities will be created through the events, organized in the parks. Overall quite low living standards of the region will be risen as the number of local tourists and tourists from abroad will be attracted to the project area and contribute by purchasing of local products and services. Project main target groups are: (1) Owners and managers of culture heritage sites – manors houses – at least 30 managers; (2) Landscape designers, gardeners – at least 20; (3) Culture and local event organizers – at least 10; (4) Local producers and craftsmen – at least 80. target groups will be reached by the jointly organised events - 3 workshops, 4 training events, 3 experience exchange visits. Final beneficiaries - visitors and local communities will be reached by the printed materials - culture heritage map and leaflets prepared for the distribution in 3 tourism exhitions - in Riga, Tallinn and St.Peterburg. Wider publicity will be reached by the organisation of journalists visit in the Project area.
