VIA HANSEATICA: 1st phase of reconstruction of Avinurme park is finished with Programme support

On 26 September Avinurme wood park and playground were opened by the Project “Advancing remote areas by development of cross-border VH tourism route on basis of local resources” (Via Hanseatica) in Avinurme Rural Municipality, Estonia.

The construction of walkways in the Avinurme wood park and the work on the playground construction began in the end of July, 2013. The opening ceremony of the park was attended by the representatives of the builder (general contractor Ojassaar LLC), of the financier (Estonian coordinator of Via Hanseatica Project of Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme), of the owner of the property (congregation of the local church) and of Avinurme Rural Municipality, and supported by children from a kindergarten, who had previously taken an active part in elaboration of the design of the playground (as an important part of the park).

During the opening ceremony five young pines were planted together by children and grown-ups. Both the walkway and the playground were quickly embraced by people.
