Two new staff members joined the team of the Joint Technical Secretariat Main Office in Riga

Project Manager for Large Scale Projects Mr. Aleksejs Šaforostovs and Financial manager assistant Mr.Sergejs Dubčaks has joined the Secretariat staff on 28 November 2011.


Aleksejs has Masters degree in European Studies from Faculty of Economics and Management in the University of Latvia and Lawyer qulification from Police Academy of Latvia, but now continue studing PhD of Law Science in School of Business Administration Turiba. He has extensive experience in different EU financial instruments, as he has worked in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development. He has been FLC in the five European Teritorrial Cooperation Programmes.
Aleksejs will be responsible for the management of Large Scale Projects.


Former Large Scale Project Manager Mr. Andris Kužnieks moved to another EU related project abroad.


Sergejs has gained masters degree in social science in Riga Technical university.
His working experience comes from the Latvian public administration sector. Sergejs has more than 6 years experience working with projects in public health sector. During these years he used to work with projects co-financed from Phare/ Transition facility programme and EEA/Norway grants. He has also been the Latvian national focal point for EC Second Public Health programme.
Sergejs will provide assistance and information to the project partners on the reporting and budgetary issues. He also will be responsible for the monitoring of the projects progress reports. As well Sergejs will be responsible for the efficient use and handling of the Technical Assistance and development of the Programme annual reports.
