For the first time in the history of the Programme, Joint Monitoring Committee approved 3 projects with an aim to improve energy efficiency and promote renewable energy sources within the Measure 2.3. First cross border project “Sun and Wind: Universal Renewables for Local Sustainability” for the Programme co-financing of 842 512, 90 eur was countersigned by the Joint Managing Authority and Tartu Regional Energy Agency, Estonia.
Overall objective of the project is to promote effective and sustainable use of local renewable energy resources and to diversify the range of used sources of energy through joint research, planning, pilot projects implementation and exchange of experiences in the target regions of Estonia and Northwest Russia.
It is planned to demonstrate options of wider use of local renewable energy usage in public sector and perform wide-spread research of local renewable energy sources use potential.
Six partners from Estonia and Russia, Pskov Oblast are involved in implementation of this cross border energy efficiency project.
