NARVA-IVANGOROD: Grant Contract of the last Large Scale Project of the Programme signed
On 19 September the Grant Contract for reconstruction of Narva and Ivangorod Border Crossing Points has been countersigned by JMA of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme and Estonian Ministry of the Interior.
The aim of the project is to reconstruct the border crossing points in Narva and Ivangorod in order to improve overall capacity of border control points. It is planned to reconstruct both pedestrian and auto transport border crossing points on Estonian and Russian side.
„Project helps to increase the capacity of the border crossing points significantly and therefore has positive impact on overall socio-economic development of the region and whole Estonia” said the regional minister of the Republic of Estonia Mr Kiisler and expressed his satisfaction that despite of occasional difficulties in project preparation phase there has been reached consensus with partners which enables to implement the large scale investment project within deadline.
Total budget of the Project „Complex Reconstruction of Border Crossing Points in Ivangorod and Narva“ is MEUR 8,2, including Programme co-financing MEUR 7,4 and additional Estonian State contribution MEUR 2,5. Reconstruction works will start next year and the project shall be implemented till the end of year 2014.
