Latgale and Pskov Oblast present outcomes and results of implemented bilateral projects

In year 2014 sports project „CROSSBO ACTIVE” and tourism project „Tour de Latgale&Pskov” finalised activities and now fully present their outcomes and results through new product of the programme - RESULTS sheets, which are prepared by the Joint Technical Secretariat.

In both projects responsible partner for implementation was in the side of Latvia - Latgale planning region and Latgale regional development agency. Projects resulted in well established cooperation networks between Latgale (Eastern part of Latvia) and Pskov Region, increase of capacity and knowledge in tourism marketing and healthy lifestyle.

Both projects together acquired about 1, 8 million euro of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia cross border cooperation programme grant. Programme’s support was 90% from the whole budget of each project.
As stated by Mr Māris Bozovičš for national portal diena.lv, in the first half of year 2014 amount of tourists in Latgale increased by 30% and this is achieved by great part thanks to efective marketing activities in the project „TOUR”. Latgale and Pskov jointly promoted 5 new tourism routes in 9 international tourism fairs from 2012 to 2014.
