HERITAGE BUSINESS: Seminar for Pechory entrepreneurs on cross-border business opportunities.

On 31 January the seminar “Business-opportunities for the entrepreneurs in Latvia was organized by the Project “Promoting the use of cultural heritage and resources in product development in border areas” (Business Heritage) in Pechory, Russia.

Welcome words to the participats of the seminar were said by the deputy Head of the Administration of Pechory District Maria Egorova, the Council of Latvian Republic in Pskov Irena Putnina and the Chairman of Ape City Council Astrīda Harju.

   

The entrepreneurs of Pechory District and Pskov were introduced with business opportunities in Latvia.
The representative of Latvian Chamber of Commerce Juris Slengis gave general overveiw of economic situation in Latvia and useful information on types of SMEs and their activities as well as services of the Chamber of Commerce for foreign entrepreneurs.
The requirements to registration of business were explained by Ilze Rubene, the Head of SIA "1.Juridiskais birojs”.
Presentation on taxation and legal framework was delivered by Bella Gumennaja, representative of State Income Service of Latvian Republic.
Veterinary and sanitary regulations for the imported goods were introduced by the representative of Veterinary Service of Vidseme Aria Locmele.
General overveiw of customs regulations was given by Inta Kovalevska, representative of Customs Department of the State Income Service.

   

   

As a conclusion of the seminar and example of success story in small business, entrepreneur from Latvia Linards Liberts made a presentation of his uique birch juice products.

 

The entrepreneurs not only received necessary information, but also could make useful contacts.
