Four EU-Russia CBC Programmes 2014-2020 are close to start
Information seminar for potential applicants of four Russia-EU cross-border cooperation programmes for period 2014-2020 took place in St. Petersburg on the 7th of June. The event was initiated by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Administration and attended by more than 140 participants, covering thematic objectives specified for the new period of cooperation.


The seminar was chaired by Mr Sergey Nikolaev - deputy head of International Cooperation Unit, Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. Mr Nikolaev briefly summarized the results of Russia – EU cross-border cooperation programmes implemented in the period 2007-2013 and introduced the audience with the specifics of the new period of cooperation with EU for the years 2014-2020. Results expected to be achieved by the Russian side were also noted.

The Baltic Sea Region programme 2014-2020 was presented by Ms Irina Karelina – general director of ICSER “Leontief Centre”, Cross-border cooperation programmes Estonia-Russia and Latvia-Russia for the period 2014-2020 were presented by Mr Sergey Balanev – representative of Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross-border Cooperation Programme in St.Petersburg.

Mr Georgiy Psarev - representative of South-East Finland-Russia Cross-border Cooperation Programme in St.Petersburg, gave detailed overview of the lessons learnt in the programme implementation in the period 2007-2013 with the focus on the major pitfalls in projects’ preparation and implementation and introduced the audience with the programmes’ specifics for period 2014-2020.

The audience was introduced to the implementation plan of the programmes’ and invited to participate in the ones planned for the autumn of year 2016.
