ECDay: Info-session on EU funded projects and QUIZ “101 questions on EU and ECDay” marked European Cooperation Day in Malnava College

On 24 September 2014, Malnava College invited students and teachers to participate in the event of European Cooperation Day. Mr Viktors Indričāns, Malnava College Deputy Director for Studies and Research, and Project Manager of the Project T&L, provided information on EU funded project experience of the College. Mr Dainis Poikāns, teacher of Malnava College, offered insights into history and major events with impact on development of European Union (EU).

The “hit” of the event was QUIZ “101 questions on EU and ECDay". About 200 young people, students of Malnava College, joined the QUIZ. The event supported socially inclusive approach and young people with hearing impairments took part in the event assisted by sign language interpreter Ms Ieva Strode. Young people prepared for the QUIZ, actively participated and got premier prizes: books, pens, umbrellas, cups, flags, t-shirts and other souvenirs with EU, ECDay and Estonia-Latvia-Russia symbols, provided by Malnava College and Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme. Each participant of the QUIZ could get more and more awards, the more correct answers she or he knew. The atmosphere was full of enthusiasm and competition. Malnava youths are knowing and active!

Malnava College celebrated European Cooperation Day for the first time. And for the first time in Malnava new ECDay mobile application was tried. This modern App allows one to upload pictures on-line directly from the place of the event into ECDay homepage and now Malnava QUIZ is known to all the audience of the ECDay official website.

The event was so much liked that it was decided to celebrate European Cooperation Day in Malnava College next year as well.
